Not ready at 2pm to book in. Told we could sit and wait. Went for a walk after lunch. Food good. Service in bar very slow. Bedroom very pleasant, clean and welcoming.
In room on first night fire alarm went off at 6.15pm. False alarm but we weren't told that.
Breakfast excellent.
Dinner in restaurant on 2nd evening. Decor and ambience excellent. Food good but service very slow. Deafened by fire alarm at 7.45pm and 30 mins later. Woken up by fire alarm at 3.04am. Everyone ignored it. No sign of any staff about to inform guests.
Mentioned it at checkout the next day. No apology given just told it had been reported to an engineer.
Spoilt what would otherwise have been a lovely break
