I booked this 'romantic break' for my partner's birthday. When we arrived the reception was a little busy. The two girls at the desk didn't feel particularly welcoming to any guests checking in. It would have been nice to be told where things were, we had to ask where the restaurant was from our room. Included in the package was a bottle of chilled Prosecco in our room on arrival, which unfortunately it wasn't. I went and spoke to the receptionist who was not apologetic at all, just mumbled oh ok. We went for a drink in the bar and was behind the receptionist who was collecting our Prosecco and having a bit of a moan to the bar staff about it. When we returned to our room the Prosecco was there, but she hadn't bothered to leave any glasses. It's not quite the same from a glass tumbler so we ended up taking the bottle home with us the next day. The restaurant was lovely and the food extremely good. It was an average stay and for the money I did expect a little more customer service and to be a more attentive, which they were not.

Big queues for breakfast even for your tea and coffee. Food was ok.

This was my second time at Ufford park and what a difference this time - wonder if there has been a management change or crisis - the rooms were good as before and the quality of the food also very good, but the service and general demeanour and moral of the staff was not good at all. Lots of young staff in the restaurant who were probably not that happy about their job and not being given adequate training which showed. our second evening we ate in the town as the atmosphere and servie were just not adequate.

We are regular visitors to this hotel and love the location and rooms with the small balconies. The golf course and other golf facilities are very good. The general areas including the restaurant and bar are now run down and not very inviting although the food is very good but we preferred to enjoy this as room service.

The hotel was perfectly fine for a cheaper hotel, staff were nice, everything was clean, just a bit dated. New carpets and fresh paint would make a massive difference.
