On first view this hotel was impressive, in beautiful surroundings where barges passed by your window.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room although a little on the small side was very comfortable and well equipped with outstanding views. The main restaurant had a country pub feel to it with a good selection on the menu, the food was very good but not exceptional although we had no complaints other than each morning the buffet breakfast was consistently cold!
A short walk to the Spa which included a nice restaurant, where again the staff were very friendly. The swimming pool was fabulous with excellent facilities (steam room, sauna and whirlpool).
Slightly disappointed with the deluxe pedicure that was a birthday present from my husband. (It was very basic and quick!)
Overall our stay at Lyons Quays was a pleasurable experience.
Negative aspects are few but include poor Wi-Fi access every where except reception, none in our room at all.
Stay here if you want to relax and have beautiful walks by the river, also a great base for visiting Chester, Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet with both Liverpool and Manchester a short hop away.
