"Hartwell House - our 40th wedding anniverary"

This was the first visit to HH for one of us and the second visit for the other. We arrived on a beautiful summer afternoon and were absolutely entranced by the setting and the grounds. We had a delightful walk around the lake in the sunshine, watching the birds and dragonflies. The interior was just as spectacular - we stayed in the Maids of Honour room at the top of the grand staircase.

DP, Nr Stratford on Avon, Warks, stayed: May 2014 We meet up with old friends each year at a convenient location - which this year was Hartwell House. We chose it partly because it was a National Trust property and partly we got a good deal with dinner included. In a near perfect summer we managed to choose a (very) wet few days. However the lovely period decor and cosy reception rooms with log fires made such a difference - greeting us on our return from damp sorties and providing the perfect location to sit and catch up on news with a welcome drink.
