Impeccable service

A real country house hotel, making you feel as if you'd stepped back in time; only felt a bit uncomfortable pressing the staff bell by the fireplace! There are several sitting rooms for a choice of ambience (including well looked after real fire), and you never feel overwhelmed by numbers of guests. The service was exemplary, with plenty of staff in the restaurant and looking after various guest needs. The food in the restaurant was really good and people obviously travel to dine there as not all the diners were staying overnight. We also used the spa and enjoyed the treatments. Having gone out for the day, it was a nice welcoming space to come 'home' to.
