Opening Times

Breakfast is served Monday - Sunday 8am to 10am.

Lunch is served on a Saturday & Sunday 12:30pm - 1:30pm.

Afternoon Tea is served Monday to Friday 2pm - 5pm and Saturday-Sunday 3:30pm - 5pm. 

Dinner is served Monday - Sunday 7pm - 9pm 

The Hartwell Café is open for hotel residents only, offering self-service tea and coffee. Monday - Sunday 10am - 6pm.

Dress Code

Dress: Smart dress in the Dining Room,
Jacket and tie are not obligatory; however trainers, tracksuits, shorts, and sportswear are not acceptable

Disabled Access

The hotel has a lift to the first and second floors in the main hotel, but does not have a lift in the Courtyard wing.

The hotel includes suites with walk in showers, these suites are lift accessible (upgrade charges may apply) please call reservations for further information prior to booking.

Only one room includes grab rails and a lower bath, please contact us if this room is required. 

Child Policy

Hartwell House and Hartwell Spa welcome children over the age of 6 years old. Children of residents 6-16 years of age, may use the pool only between the hours of 9.00am and 10.00am and 4.00pm and 5.00pm when accompanied by an adult residential guest.

Children cannot use the other spa facilities.

Please note no bedrooms can take additional beds, therefore children will be allocated their own room on the full package price.

The grounds

Hartwell House stands in 94 acres of beautiful parkland, landscaped by a contemporary of Capability Brown. It features a lake spanned by a stone bridge, a ruined church and many 18th century statues and garden buildings.

History of the hotel

This impressive house, which has both Jacobean and Georgian facades, has been skilfully and sympathetically restored by Historic House Hotels. The restoration extended to the 18th century stables, coach house and indoor riding school, which were adapted to create additional bedrooms and suites at Hartwell House.

Dogs Policy

Dogs are welcome in the Hartwell Courtyard suites by prior arrangement only. Two small dogs or one larger dog are permitted, and may be walked in the park and woods, but not in the garden. Damage to rooms or injury to livestock will be charged for. The hotel will supply a bed, water bowl, snacks and those all-important little bags. 

There is no charge for dogs, but only 3 Courtyard Suites are dog friendly, so availability must be confirmed before booking.
