We had a lovely stay at this luxury hotel, which is definitely 5 star standard in everything but the food served in its restaurant. Burnt steak and salty food characterised the first dinner; the second night's dinner was better, but the food overall was not the quality one would expect from such an establishment. We'd love to stay at Hartwell House again in the future, but would think carefully if there is no improvement in the food served.
