We stayed at Widbrook Grange for 2 nights on an Off peak Luxury supposedly good value break. Our room number 14 was spacious but tucked away in a dark corner with insufficient lumen to light the room. It was difficult to read our books whilst relaxing in bed. The decor was a little tired, needing some attention. There was no voile curtain at the window and passers by could look directly into our room. The bed was comfortable. The hot water was scalding, dangerously so.
The menu was adequate, not a gourmet experience. We chose a bottle of middle of the range Malbec wine but were surprised when presented with the bill, which was not itemised to notice that a service charge of 12.5 percent was added to all meals and bar items.
