Hotel has huge potential

We have stayed here over the years a few times whilst on business.
The setting is lovely and it s clear the hotel prides itself on maintaining a very nice golf course.
First impressions of reception not great, a rather dull area and when we walked through the doors there was a dreadful sweaty smell (the golfers?) which almost made us gag. Perhaps the sportsmen could access the golf course some other way. The rooms are adequate and sufficiently equipped with what s needed for a good night s sleep. Comfortable bed. Restaurant ok although menu fairly limited.
This hotel can easily go from being just ok to something quite special with some upfront investment. It is starting to look shabby in places.
