Pros and Cons

Public areas were nicely done and staff were friendly and helpful. Nice location. Our room looked out over the canal.Dinner was good. Breakfast was the basic sausage, bacon & eggs fry-up buffet.

The pool was a disappointment as the hot tub wasnt working and it generally looked in need of some TLC.

Outside bar area catches the sun but is situated at the front by the main road so a lot of traffic noise and fumes.

We ordered two G&Ts from the 'offers' poster on the bar which should have been approx 12 but the bill was 17+. When I queried it I was told it was because one of us had asked for slimline tonic which wasn't covered in the offer! Barman didn't explain this.

Bathroom needed updated and this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in which did not provide either shower gel or shampoo! I had to use hand soap to wash in the shower!
