We stayed there for two nights for our 40th anniversary. It was our first visit to the peak district. We were allocated the Derwent room which was very nice. The door to the bathroom was a bit weird, but the facilities were very good. The upstairs lounge was nice with views up the hill and two extra beds and a settee and TV. The restaurant was very nice but we found the menus a bit limited, so once you had done 2 nights then you get stumped for choice. There are lovely walks both to Chatsworth House (Approx 2.2 miles) and just around the village which is very quaint. There are plenty of sights to see and both Matlock and Bakewell are only 5 miles away (Bakewell certainly worth a visit). All in all a very nice stay.
