Sitting in a central spot to the south of the Seine, we're sure that you'll be just as smitten with this bright apartment as we are. There's a simply huge amount of natural light from the windows and doors that line the living space and this shines rather nicely off the stark white walls, wooden floor and sleek kitchen surfaces.While it may not have the Haussmanian period charm of other homes in the French capital, the furnishings and finishes are all contemporary – even a little minimalist so in places – and there are no parts that we can identify as needing some urgent love and attention.

The home is on the ground floor, but both of the bedrooms are on the first level reached only by stairs – there's a sofa bed on the ground floor, though. The host doesn't accept bookings from groups of young people aged under eighteen. There's no private parking but Duroc metro station lies at the end of the street. Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
