The hotel is family run and that comes across and is a plus. The decor was traditional but in an ideal world needs a bit of attention in parts like the landings and stair carpet - these areas are also a little cluttered.
The garden needs a fair bit of attention especially along the veranda and I found the entrance and fountain did NOT reflect the generally good standards inside.
The food was simple and very well cooked - a major plus.

Thank you for your comments.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the food overall.
In January 2017 we replaced all the carpets in the hallways and staircases and painted the same areas so these are only 18 months old. We are a country house hotel with an antique feel and we do not have a minimalistic/contemporary style of decor so there are paintings in the hallways and side tables in the landings with lamps etc. In January 2018 we re-surfaced the front of the hotel by the fountain. Pictures of these areas are on our website and can be viewed.
However, I am pleased you had a good time overall and I hope we will see you again.
