We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orestone Manor, food wonderful and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Booking through off peak luxury saved us a lot of money but unfortunately the hotel did not offer an upgrade or a welcome drink as expected on arrival but as we were more than happy with the room and food we did not raise this issue with the staff there.

The upgrade you mentioned was not possible as the hotel was fully booked - the offer does make clear that upgrades are subject to availability at the time of arrival.
