The experience on the whole was excellent. Staff very attentive and great ambience. I guess one drawback is the lack of lifts in the castle itself if you are not too agile. We stayed in The Grenwich Room which was lovely but about 80 stairs from dinner to bed! There is a service lift you can request but you must be accompanied by a member of staff. We had a slight glitch in service in the dining room second night but after mentioning this at reception, they immediately removed the discretionary service charge from our bill. Situated in a lovely location with excellent facilities, friendly staff and very good food, we will visit again.
