"Disapointing"
Clive Jacobs, stayed: May 2022 The staff were the only 5 star part of this experience. They upgraded our accommodation which was excellent. The cuisine was very disappointing - small portions of over rich food and disappointing breakfasts too. The first morning wife ordered poached egg and bacon and that s what she got - one egg and one small slice of bacon! Grounds and views are lovely but the building and interior need some refurbishment. Overall poor value for money. (We had a better Sunday lunch at the local gastro
"Simply outstanding."
SE, stayed: April 2022 We stayed for one night to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were upgraded to a royal four poster room which was stunning. The hotel has a wonderful ambiance, very relaxing and full of beautiful antiques. The four drawing rooms are very welcoming and we were reserved a window table and sofa to enjoy our pre dinner champagne and canapes. Our 3 course dinner was wonderful and one of the best meals I have ever had. All staff were friendly, efficient and professional and we were extremely well looked after. Breakfast was also faultless. Grounds are lovely and peaceful for a walk I can t recommend this hotel highly enough.
"A good hotel, could be a great hotel."
AP, Kent, stayed: February 2022 Although I rate this hotel highly, with a bit of love to the aging interior of our room, having a proper double bed & no hiding extra costs it would be a great hotel.
"Fantastic break!"
Sam, Oxon, stayed: February 2022 From arrival to departure our stay was fantastic. Every member of staff was welcoming and friendly. The Spa was great and very relaxing. Our dinner was amazing and breakfast was just as good. As a special treat away it lived up to all our expectations!
"Repeat visit and will come again"
Jacqueline B, Surrey, stayed: February 2022 Brilliant place for a luxury break, with nice personal touches eg acknowledging our anniversary in the restaurant. Comfortable and excellent ambiance, just like staying in a country mansion rather than a hotel. Minor frustration was the rather poor internet connection in our Courtyard suite, but as we we were not there to work it didn't matter!
