The house and its d cor are amazing as well as beautiful all of which are set in natural and well kept parkland.
With so much history its like staying in a living museum . Everywhere you turn there is dated furniture, paintings chandeliers, crockery, books.
Each of the 4 public rooms are very relaxing with very comfortable period furniture to sit on.
We stayed in a Royal 4 poster room (see pictures) which was out of this world and had all of the facilities you would need. The others in our family stayed in Hartwell court suites which were outstanding, each with a galleried bedroom overlooking a separate and large lounge below.
Perhaps one of the highlights staying here was the hotel s staff. You could tell from the moment of arrival and checking in that they all had huge pride for working at the hotel and clearly had a love of the house and its history.
Eating at the hotel was excellent with breakfast having a range of good quality offerings to dinner which was also worthy of its AA 2 rosettes. The background piano playing during dinner is a great touch and certainly adds to the atmosphere.
The spa is lovely and relaxing but perhaps needs a few more chairs around the pool. If you intend to have a treatment, I suggest you book well in advance as they do get very busy.
The level of personal attention and service from all the staff at this hotel deserves to be noted and recognised.
There were so many staff I could mention but apologies I didn t get to note your individual names. A special mention to Adam though for looking out for us.
We were spoilt and very well looked after whilst staying here and will certainly be back.
