Great hotel, great location

We meet up with old friends each year at a convenient location - which this year was Hartwell House. We chose it partly because it was a National Trust property and partly we got a good deal with dinner included. In a near perfect summer we managed to choose a (very) wet few days. However the lovely period decor and cosy reception rooms with log fires made such a difference - greeting us on our return from damp sorties and providing the perfect location to sit and catch up on news with a welcome drink.
Good food, lovely rooms and a very relaxed atmosphere compared with most hotels. We shall be back!
