A Wonderful relaxing weekend

My partner booked the hotel for a surprise romantic getaway and from the moment we drove up to the gate where we were greeted with incredible courtesy, the staff were exemplary. The concierges were incredible attentive and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Massages had been booked and they were relaxing. Our room was beautiful with a separate drawing room and decorated in a traditional style that was in keeping with the history of the building. The restaurant was also excellent. With delicious food and attentive waiting staff. The grounds are extensive and a stroll takes you too many folly s and points of interest.
We enjoyed afternoon tea in the Great Hall thanks to John the concierge whose quick thinking squeezed us in.
The public rooms were exquisitely decorated with antiques and portraits of former owners of the property and gave the feeling you were staying somewhere very special. I couldn t recommend the hotel and its staff highly enough.
