"Average stay, could do better"
Trevor, Somerset, stayed: July 2026 Booked a prosecco stay, no prosecco on arrival, needed to ask twice to get the bottle. Asked for extra tea bags, once again additional request was required three times. No draught beers, lagers or Guinness, only drink suitable was a bottled Welsh beer, although satisfactory the staff struggled to pour the drink which resulted in half a glass of froth.
"Birthday treat"
Lynda C, stayed: February 2026 Stayed here for 1 night as a birthday treat. It was lovely from the moment we walked into reception. Our beautiful room was more than we expected as we had our little dog with us. The staff couldn't do enough and were always available.
"Nothing at all to disappoint us , we hopefully because of age be back again."
DB, Newport, stayed: November 2025 We loved every moment, nothing to criticise at all. Staff were lovely , food excellent we came with our son and his partner they both agreed with us nothing to find fault with. My husband is ninety next year with problems with his walking but we are keeping fingers crossed we will be back next year.
5 star review
CW, Shropshire, stayed: August 2025 Very dog friendly, staff excellent and very helpful. The single beds were very narrow, we were frightened we might fall out of the bed!! The room seemed dark mainly because of the bed heads and the throw a nd cushions. The curtains were lovely so it was a pity they hadn't tied in with those. The bathroom was excellent. The public rooms were beautiful and elegant. It was the best hotel for friendly and helpful staff together with very friendly guests. The gardens were spacious which my dogs loved.
"Birthday Treat - and the dog came too!"
Adrian R, West Yorkshire, stayed: June 2025 My wife and I, with our little dog, had decided to have a few days away for her birthday - using a voucher we had been given as a present for Christmas. Not sure I have ever been anywhere so dog-friendly! Bowls and and a bed were provided in our room and there was an area of the restaurant where you could eat with your dog (and many did).
