"Smashing Christmas Break"
Debbie T, stayed: December 2015 Location: Few miles from Bishop Storford you need GPS to find the hotel. Situated just outside a pretty little village where there is a well stocked Co-op, tea rooms and Pub.
"Nice room, great food, service was off for us but we may have been unlucky"
JM, Cambridge, stayed: November 2015 We had a nice evening at the hotel but felt that the spa area could have been improved as the shower was in the disabled loo and the changing room door didn't shut properly so you also had to get changed in the loo which gave the experience a very clinical feel. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal, service was friendly although we were brought a cheaper wine than the one for which we asked and were subsequently charged. We didn't get our champagne on arrival so called room service but it was delivered to the next room in error (we actually heard the knock next door and joked that it might be ours) so we waited about 40 min in total before calling again at which point the mistake was quickly rectified and the receptionist apologised. Breakfast was good but service was slow. All in all the room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed ourselves but due to the niggles we would probably choose somewhere else with more leisure facilities next time. We would definitely return for dinner and the afternoon teas looked great from what we saw.
"Great night away"
Jane, London, stayed: November 2015 Room was ready early, had afternoon tea on arrival where the staff were amazing. They knew who we were and that I was gluten free. Tea lovely and filling. Room lovely. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast excellent. Could not fault anything.
"Great Weekend Away"
Elizabeth, Welling, stayed: October 2015 We had a fab weekend away for family 60th Birthday.... nothing was too much trouble and more importantly everything was wheelchair friendly.
"The hotel you'll want to re-visit."
Kathleen H, Ongar, stayed: October 2015 From arrival to departure, an enjoyable experience. Staff are welcoming, professional and knowledgeable.
