From the minute we arrived and were so cheerfully welcomed by the porter, we unwound! Lovely large room; although relatively new, we were impressed with its size inc height of ceiling. I was surprised there was no separate shower in the spacious bathroom; getting out of the bath was difficult, but appreciated having a bidet and a basin each! Our deal meant we had an evening meal each of the two nights we stayed, and the food was very good and beautifully presented and served. We were a litle disappointed on the 2nd night that there was nothing new: one change for each course, or a daily special would have been good, but we did find delicious 2nd choices of mains. The grounds are well worth walking round, and I loved the marked walks. We stayed on site for the whole of our stay. Despite its proximity to Stansted and the M11 it was so peaceful. A little more attention at breakfast (there were plenty of staff but it was difficult to attract their attention) and it would have made the 10/10 stay.
