Stunning 4* countryside spa hotel just outside London

Down Hall - Great overnight stay.

Booked an overnight stay (last minute- booked the day before). Really enjoyed our stay. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Had a twin exec room in West wing. Spacious room, in keeping with the period of the hotel. Clean room, comfortable beds. Beautiful grounds. Used the hotel gym/sauna area on 1st evening which we had to ourselves. Gym was very cold initially but we acclimatised. FYI- Area is unstaffed but they have CCTV. Sauna is small but clean. Unfortunately, steam room was leaking and smelly so couldnt stay in there.
Had a package which included dinner and breakfast booked through OffPeakLuxury, recommend using a website like this as got a very good price but price quoted directly through the hotel was almost double!
Evening meal was lovely, had vegan options. Restaurant staff very attentive, only downside was the air con was too high plus the doors were open so it was very cold. We had to ask whether it could be it was and all was good after that.
As we booked last minute, Eden spa treatments were booked on the first day but we managed to get a 35 min treatment the next day. Back, neck and shoulder massage was really good. Unfortunately, theres no relaxation area in the spa so that was disappointing and as we had already checked out of the hotel before our treatments, we literally had to get in the car almost straight after.
Also, you have to pay extra to use the wet spa in Eden Spa, which would usually be offered included with treatments at other places.
Overall, a fantastic stay, good value, would visit again and have already recommended to others.
