This turned into a surprise for my parents. However upon arrival well after 3pm the room was not ready. They were placed in an alternative room, it was then announced in fron of them that the champagne would need to ve changed rooms. (There goes that surprise). Upon entering the new room, it was so cold they were unable to take their coats off. (My parents are not particularly old, this should tell you it was substantially cold). They requested to change the room and we're placed into a new room. (Thankfully warmer).
On top of this disappoint mentioned the hotel was described as in need of serious cleaning, the dust had been written in around the hotel building and in need of a fresh coat of paint. I appreciate the hotel is a country hotel but you're representing a concept that is not being fulfilled. After dinner my parents entered the bar to which a disagreement ensued with the head barman who refused to make them a cocktail as it had raw egg in. (Let me assure you it does not).
The whole evening which was a birthday present to my mother was supposed to start her birthday off perfectly. In fact it was more of an expensive fawlty towers experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I know my family would never go again. I cannot fault the staff who work for Offpeakluxury and I would not have said anything had you not have asked for a review.
offpeakluxury says:
Thank you for your review, although I am sorry that your parents' stay was not to their entire satisfaction.
I understand that the hotel have responded to you separately, and I do hope that this has resolved the issues you experienced during your stay.
Best wishes,
Offpeakluxury
