A good hotel dulled by Covoid restrictions.

Very pleasant hotel and especially the grounds. Staff were all very good and attentive. But we missed the lift and the pool, we understood closed for Covoid, We had been advised beforehand that the pool would be opened the following week, but too late for us to be able to defer our stay. In don't think that a quality hotel should put guests on upper floors without the availability of a lift. Multiple staircases and a total of 43 steps up to our room, and we are both well into our 80s.
Overall, though, the ambience of quality and the hotel environment made it a very enjoyable stay, although in my opinion the restaurant barely made the claimed 2 AA rosettes standard.
