My partner and I went for our 5 year anniversary and Valentines day. We arrived on a Friday and stayed until Monday, so a long weekend.
The building itself is beautiful. Intimate in nature, inviting, homely in all the right ways. The surrounding areas are equally stunning, with fantastic views from each direction. Sitting in the lounge watching fog roll over the hills opposite was a beautiful sight and one I will never forget.
Our room was gorgeous, very well decorated with excellent amenities. Arguably the most comfortable bed either of us had ever had the pleasure of sleeping in.
What tops this hotel off is of course the staff. Upon arrival we were treated extremely well, and were provided with afternoon tea and cakes served on a plate with 'Happy Valentines' hand written in chocolate sauce. Our booking included Champagne which was provided to us at this point, perfect timing in our opinion and without asking - they really know how to treat their guests at this hotel.
Dinner and breakfast were fantastic, with an excellent choice of menu. Each night and morning was a treat, we were surprised at the food quality and especially the valentines menu which was utterly delicious. My partner especially enjoyed the valentines cocktail of which the recipe for was created by a member of staff - this same member of staff offered what we would say is the best service we have ever had, with a mixture of humor, politeness and quick service, the man deserves an award. But equally, all staff members made us feel welcome and very much at home. Relaxing without a stifling atmosphere.
We would love to return in the future and will recommend the hotel to everyone we know.
