A 30's oasis for an evening of bygone charm

We were delighted with the service from the Off Peak Luxury team as Burgh has some particular logistics for arrival and evening dinner locations which vary depending on your choice of dress code, and the team was really helpful in pointing those out.
The location is wonderful and the parking on the mainland and transfer across the beach to the island worked perfectly.
The reception was welcoming if a little 'fragmented' which was rather the theme of the service during the stay. Champagne arrival drinks were a little slow arriving and had to be taken in a room cluttered with the remnants of concluded afternoon tea services which were still not cleared up when we'd enjoyed our drinks and moved into the gardens.
The room was charming, a bath rather than than a shower wouldn't have been our first choice, but the bedroom and lounge areas were of a high standard.
The food was delicious and the live band at dinner added a wonderful atmosphere to the stay.
We felt that one night was plenty to bask in a bygone age, better service might have encouraged a longer stay or a return trip.
