"Memorable anniversary trip"

Such a special and romantic place to visit for an anniversary. The service is first class and the food was amazing. Lovely to have the opportunity to dress in black tie! We will be back.
"Totally Magical"

Burgh Island is fabulous. A special bespoke venue that delivers a location that is hard to beat. The hotel is historic and is being respected by the owner to make sure its ambiance is not diluted or lost. It s a pleasure to be part of although sadly only for us for just one night. We ate brilliant food in the relaxed and informal Nettlefold restaurant. Our Christie room was spacious and very well equipped. Decor throughout the hotel is fantastic with original art deco design and it s a pleasure to be amongst. We happily partook in cocktails served up by the excellent staff in the Palm court and patio. Even taking in the vapours at the mermaid pool.
"Interesting stay on the beautiful island"
CB, Devon, stayed: September 2025
The hotel has been beautifully restored, and was all that we had hoped for. Everything went smoothly from the moment we were collected from the car park, and driven across the causeway. We were delighted with our room, and found it very comfortable and convenient. We were lucky enough to enjoy the most wonderful weather, and the island appeared to its best advantage: the sea sparkled, the view from our room was spectacular, and the stars twinkled very brightly at night. The food was delicious, and locally sourced, with a good choice on the dinner menu. The only criticism I have to make is that the breakfast in the restaurant was a bit of a disaster. We waited an hour for our breakfast order to arrive, and it seemed that there was a distinct lack of organisation in the service. My gentle query as to how much longer we might have to wait was not received well, and even less well by the receptionist, when I told her how long we had waited. There is a distinct difference between a leisurely breakfast, and a very slow breakfast! Aside from this one complaint, we were delighted with our stay, and can recommend Burgh Island Hotel for a special trip.
