"Absolutely love Burgh Island"
Michelle T, Dorset, stayed: July 2019 The team here used our we had experienced on a 6 star cruise. We loved Gary Burgh Islands justifiably famous head Bar Man. What a rock star. Amazing drinks and so charming. Black the dinners super quality. Breakfasts also great. Ok the room was a bit tired ( art deco style but needs investment promised by new owners last May 18) otherwise AMAZING treat yourself and go.
"A memorable stay"
Anon, stayed: July 2019 Amazing location. Excellent food. The staff could do with knowing a bit more about the history of the hotel. We were told our room was called Fruity Metcalfe because the room was decorated in bright colours! They had run out of decaf tea bags. We had to ask twice for our tea tray for our early morning tea tray. The driver who took us from the car park to the island was great and very helpful.
"A 30's oasis for an evening of bygone charm"
Scott S, London, stayed: July 2019 We were delighted with the service from the Off Peak Luxury team as Burgh has some particular logistics for arrival and evening dinner locations which vary depending on your choice of dress code, and the team was really helpful in pointing those out.
"Mixed Bag"
Anon, stayed: July 2019 The location on a sunny day cannot be beaten. Our collection from the mainland and arrival in reception was efficiently managed. Unfortunately our first meal at the Pilchard was a great dissapointment with waits of over an hour and our table, which we had reserved, given to someone else. We got it back but only after some discussion. The room was lovely and the ballroom and breakfast service good . The main failing was a very sullen receptionist who tried to charge us again for a bill we had already paid the offered no apology A shame as it was an unpleasant ending to our stay and meant we were delayed leaving with our friends.
"Disappointing"
Simon C, West Yorkshire, stayed: July 2019 We booked the hotel for my wife's 50th Birthday, after ten year's of waiting (wanting). The hotel was fantastic, style location, feel, but was very let down by small but numerous faults many times. On 3 occasions we ordered drinks (first day) to be told not available. This continued during the 3days we were there. Wait times for drinks and all meals was painfully slow. We would like to stay again but only if improvements are made.
