The location on a sunny day cannot be beaten. Our collection from the mainland and arrival in reception was efficiently managed. Unfortunately our first meal at the Pilchard was a great dissapointment with waits of over an hour and our table, which we had reserved, given to someone else. We got it back but only after some discussion. The room was lovely and the ballroom and breakfast service good . The main failing was a very sullen receptionist who tried to charge us again for a bill we had already paid the offered no apology A shame as it was an unpleasant ending to our stay and meant we were delayed leaving with our friends.
