Our first stay at Widbrook Grange and despite the awful weather on the way - and the end of a dreadful wet winter, the gardens were appealing (my other half loved the old electric milk float, and the sheep with a spark plug coat!) and the hotel comfortable and welcoming. The room(one of the mews rooms- but very close to the main building) was spacious and we enjoyed the long sofa in the room and all the quirky decorations - such as the saddle! The bathroom and shower were great - spacious and easy to use.
The breakfast was substantial and had a good buffet as well as variety of hot options. We ate in the restaurant twice as it was included in the Off Peak Luxury package. The food was delicious - though the menu did need translating (perhaps we need to get out more!) The hotel is only 6 minutes drive from the heart of Bradford on Avon - very pretty in itself with lovely walks along the Avon to the Tithe Barn and beyond. As our first day was pretty wet we headed into Bath by train - a scenic trip through the Avon valley. So much to explore both in Bath and in Bradford on Avon... we will be back. We'd love to see the garden in it's glory and enjoy some of the hidden seating areas and the swimming pool which we didn't have time to try!
