"Another enjoyable stay"
DQ, Lancashire, stayed: October 2024 We have stayed in this iconic hotel previously and overall enjoyed this stay. The top floor room was generously sized, but was far too hot, even with radiators turned off. This was exacerbated by the heavy duvet, which made sleeping uncomfortable. However, overall, the pluses outweigh the minuses.
"The Old Swan Harrogate"
LW, stayed: October 2024 We did a 2 night break and had dinner in the restaurant on Friday evening, it was very relaxing and the quality of the food was good. We had breakfast both mornings and there were even some gluten free options so that was a welcome bonus. The location was good easy walk from the station and to the town centre..
"Living in a Hot House"
Robert, County Durham, stayed: October 2024 Bad start by being informed a payment of 20 was required for parking. Went to the room and the heat just hit you. The staff must have known as there were t wo desk fans in the wardrobe which was on constantly all night. Next morning the bar of chocolate which my wife left out had completely melted that's how hot it was. The meal on the night was just OK with the soup Good but the fish and chips was very poor value. Breakfast decent although some items in the buffet had stood for too long
"Not the luxury break I thought it was going to be - disappointing."
SM, Lincolnshire, stayed: September 2024 Very disappointed with restaurant menu. Daily specials ( pie choice repeated on second night).
"Room and Food"
EM, Gwynedd, stayed: September 2024 The Horel setting was lovely and it was an easy walk into town. Parking was great although we were charged. That is where it ended. The room was sparse and the ensuite was like something from the 70 s. There was one wardrobe which was at angle and looked to be from the old MFI store.
