"Lovely hotel and fantastic staff"

Lovely hotel, good food and very relaxing. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. Good ambience in the bar/ dining room in the evening. Good breakfasts both continental and traditional. Could pay more attention to carpet cleanliness (especially the stairs up to the bedroom) and housekeeping in general.

Linda J, Dorset, stayed: April 2026 We had a lovely 2 night stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially the taller gentleman with the moustache. The room was a little disappointing as we had previously stayed in the room. With a small terrace but this wasn't a major problem.

Pat C, Devon, stayed: March 2026 Very welcoming and friendly staff, food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced, breakfast had a great selection of cooked locally sourced produce, together with cereals, fruit, croissants and fresh juice. really lovely grounds but if you want to venture further a field the train station is literally 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

James C, Somerset, stayed: August 2025 Great hotel for dog owners. Super location and grounds. Food was very good quality but relatively small portion size. Owners very amicable. Room spacious and in good order. Recommended.
