"A small cosy country house hotel"
Anon, stayed: August 2026 Overall- very good. Comfortable and charming. In a pretty location close to Dartmoor National Park. Friendly and helpful staff.
"MILL END 2 NIGHT STAY"
Mr&Mrs Chattin-Smith, stayed: August 2026 I cannot fault Mill End at all. From the moment we arrived, continually throughout our stay until we left we have had the most attentive service. Nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed, attended to, waited on, chatted to, served and everything was just perfect.
"What a little gem"
Claire H, Gloucestershire, stayed: June 2026 My husband and I only stayed one night, but we will be going back for more! From the moment we checked in and were shown to our beautiful room to the time we checked out, nothing was too much trouble for the attentive, friendly staff. We had pre dinner drinks in the sunny garden , then the most delicious three course meal although to our delight the courses were interspersed with amuse-bouche, so leave plenty of space! We had coffee and liquors in the lounge over a board game. In the winter there is a lovely fireplace you can sit in front of! Breakfast was a Buffett choice of continental cold options plus a hot menus with lots of choices. The plates coming out of the kitchen looked amazing! As we were going out for lunch we opted for the continental option! Our bedroom was a junior suite Harbourne, it was one when you walk in you say wow! On the second floor, we were in the apex of the roof with beautiful exposed beams and stone. The room was large with a claw foot bath in the bedroom (yes you can see the tv from it!) and the en-suite bathroom had a good sized shower. Toiletries were yummy (and can be purchased at reception) there were robes and slippers provided. The bed was huge and so comfy, a large kettle and mugs with a range of tea, plus a coffee pod machine and a jug of fresh milk in your fridge. Ohh and don t forget the homemade shortbread biscuits! Will we be back? Yes! Would we recommend to family, friends and anyone reading? Yes!
"A second visit and absolutely no disappointments!!"
Michael, Somerset, stayed: June 2026 After a rather traumatic period, my wife and I really needed a short break. We had previously spent a couple of nights at Mill End back in February. This is an ideal location for those who like a relaxing atmosphere in lovely room, top class meals, easy access to wonderful Dartmoor, and being dog-friendly (they have a marvellous paddock where our labrador can do his 'zoomies'. Mill End filled the brief. We WILL return, God Willing!
"Mill End Cagworth"
Martyn T, Dorset, stayed: June 2026 We had one of the modern split level suites, loved it. The hotel is like an old manor house, not super steeped in history or style, but very comfortable. And the staff were really helpful and engaging. Great location with walks directly from the hotel. But the particular call-out has to be the quality of food, limited menu but of highest quality, congratulations to the chef.
