Down Hall was a lovely location, staff welcoming, helpful and friendly. It was quiet and enabled us to chill out. A member of staff in the cocktail bar was particularly helpful and supportive. The breakfast was good although the evening meal was a disappointment as it was "fine dining" style and we prefer food that is a bit plainer, also the menus never varied during our stay so this was a minus. However on the third night the head waiter got us an alternative menu which was extremely helpful and appreciated. The spa was lovely and relaxing and staff very attentive and helpful. The overall cost of the break was very high although i accept that you are paying for the ambience of the venue and facilities. £8 for one sandwich is very steep although if people are williing to pay for this then it will remain at this level. A pleasant break overall though but the cost and value for money is not a motivator to stay there again, sorry.
