Wonderful stay

Myself and my wife had a wonderful stay in this lovely old mansion hotel on 25th April.
The check in was swift and efficient and our bottle of chilled Champagne was waiting for us in the room. Unlike some other hotels I have stayed in this was a quality bottle of bubbly. The room was lovely with high ceilings and a good size with a lovely view over the grounds. We booked dinner at 8pm and went straight to the restaurant as it was a busy night with a big wedding. The service was marvellous and I chose the scallops with black pudding which had a supplement of £6.95. My wife had the goats cheese lollipops. Both of us were very impressed with our starters. I ordered the lamb shoulder for main but unfortunately they had run out. They kindly offered a steak without the supplement as a replacement which I thought was a nice touch. The desserts were delicious and we were both very happy with both the service and the food.
We had a great night sleep in a very comfortable bed. The only downside to the stay was that some very inconsiderate wedding party arrived at 7.45am and proceeded not only to bang and crash doors but talk/shout loudly to each other just outside our room. This then continued for the next two hours and also involved bridesmaids having their hair done on the landing directly outside our room as the hairdresser found a plug point there. I would suggest the hotel that caters so well for weddings remembers that other guests also need to be considered. They served them Buck's Fizz on the landing so they could have suggested that their hair should have been done in one of the rooms instead.
