Really enjoyed our two night break at this beautiful Arts & Crafts style property which is ideally situated between Windermere and Ambleside. Our room had a huge bay window overlooking the gardens and lake. The decor and furnishings in the room reflect the era and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, however, was very small and narrow which was surprising in a hotel of this standard. The evening meals in the restaurant were interesting and tasty, the desserts especially! Liked having after dinner coffee and chocolates in the lounges which had comfy seating and open fires. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay at Cragwood again.
