Although the hotel had many good points we felt the lack of coffee/tea facilities in the room just added to the expense of the holiday. The room itself was a very good size but very dark, we needed all the lights on, on a bright sunny day. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the very small restaurant menu did not have enough dishes to be able to have something different every night for a week.
Chateau La Chaire Hotel says:
Thank you for your comments. We decided not to include complimentary tea & coffee facilities in the rooms a number of years ago. As costs continually increase it became obvious to us that room rates would also need to increase and so to avoid having to do this we now leave the choice of tea & coffee to the customer.
I was quite surprised to hear about a dark room. It was at the front of the house and has four big windows. Maybe we need to pull the curtains back further as they are thick and heavy and may prevent light. We'll certainly look at this.
Being a fine dining restaurant the food is A' la Carte and needs to be reasonably limited in order to maintain the quality. It is for this reason we also own our local Pub 2 minutes away which having been completely refurbished offers a very extensive maInstream menu which is also available inclusively when staying at the Chateau.
We do hope you enjoyed your stay in Jersey and hope that we may see you again in the future.
