Pros: the decor was pristine, modern and welcoming and everywhere was immaculately clean. The surroundings were quiet and green. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well stocked with everything you could want for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable. The food was generally very good, especially breakfast.
Cons: We have to judge on the basis of the "luxury" description. The saddle-style bar stools were not at all comfortable to sit on. There was no sound on the TV in our room on channel 1. There were orange stains on some areas of the grout in the shower. One of us ordered burrata as a starter and what arrived was very definitely not burrata - it was melted and stretchy, like mozzarella. This was substituted with another starter of our choice, but not a good start. There was a notice in reception saying that if you arrived before 4pm or left after 10am, there would be a 10 parking charge. We arrived at about 5.30pm and left before 10am and yet on checkout were still charged 10 for parking. This left a bad taste. Charging for parking at a "luxury" hotel at all seems odd.
