A step back in time . . . .

Altogether a very unique experience. We found the hotel lived up to it's reputation and loved the atmosphere, especially the small island setting. The service, the cuisine and general comfort were all that we expected, and in some cases more so.
However, our much looked forward to 'special' evening in the Grand Ballroom was spoiled by the very poor music trio. While the female vocalist did her best, both the pianist and saxophonist played robotically without any feeling for the music. They looked bored and indifferent to any audience reaction. We were therefore extremely disappointed and came away with the view that the standard of musicianship fell well short of what it should be in a hotel of this quality.
