Disappointed with Offpeak luxury with the booking arrangements and the lack of response to emails.

We enjoyed a relaxing break in the luxurious surroundings of this Grade 1 listed building. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the food was delicious - and because we stayed five nights the chef offered to cook us something off the menu one night. The location is perfect - you wouldn't imagine you were so close to Llandudno - and we enjoyed walking round the very well-kept gardens and grounds. Although we only used the pool in the Spa, it was very welcome on a very hot day.

Lovely old national trust hall with beautiful gardens and wonderful views of the Welsh hills. With proper management it ought to be a wonderful hotel. Unfortunately it isn't properly managed. n the first evening I had a shower. At the end, stepping out of the bath and not wishing to slip, I would have reached out to the towel rail but this was burning hot (in a heat wave) and nothing we could do affected this. I therefore reached out to the door handle. This came off in my hand. I fell, grazing and brushing my back on the remains of the handle and cutting my foot. It was clearly poor maintenance. I was not seriously hurt but I could very easily have hit my head.

Sometimes a return visit to a well remembered hotel does not always live up to expectations. Not so with Bodysgallen Hall. It was every bit as good as we had remembered from our previous visit in March 2024 and this time we came in June so were able to see the lovely gardens in early summer.

Bodysgallen Hall is beautiful and in lovely surroundings. Our room was impressive in its decor and furnishings, very clean and with a beautiful view. The bedding in our room was very heavy with blankets, sheets and quilts, and the bed itself rather uncomfortable, so our sleep experience wasn t good. The restaurant was very nicely laid out and the service impeccable, if a little formal. The food at breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately our first evening s meal didn t live up to expectations and we were both unable to eat some of the meats served for our main course. On following nights our meals were very good and the desserts delicious. Staff were all friendly and charming. When we came to check out on our final morning we found the way our bill was presented was indecipherable and the amount charged considerably more than we were expecting. The ladies at reception seemed equally bemused with how it had been calculated and we think this is something the hotel needs to address. We ended up not knowing how the individual costs of elements of our stay and our food and drink had been arrived at. We thought the addition of 12.5% service charge excessive and although this was apparently optional it was applied to all individual aspects of the account. An expensive stay for the experience!
