Really lovely - but ridiculous gin price!

My husband and I had a fabulous time, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary at Southlodge. We were greeted with a beautiful suite which had a jar of sweets, labelled with congratulations to us both, which was a lovely touch.
The new spa is fabulous and not over filled with guests, so we were able to relax. We used the excellent gym which is very well equipped.
We had a few drinks in the bar before dinner and when I ordered a G&T, I was asked if I d like a large one, to which I gratefully accepted. It was very nice but on checking our bill at the end of the evening I noticed I d been charged for two drinks at 11 per drink. I queried this and found it was because I d accepted a double measure. Along with the service charge, I feel 26 for a large G&T is day light robbery. I ve not spent that amount on a drink even in top London venues.
We were lucky to be seated by the window in the restaurant for dinner and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent and the same followed at breakfast the next morning. Lots of choice at the buffet and all of excellent quality.
Overall a really lovely stay and we ll be back - but won t be choosing the G&T!
