We think it's the epitome of cosy – just curl up next to the wood-burning stove with a glass of wine and you'll understand what we mean.

Nestled just a few minutes from the historic heart of Bury St Edmunds, five minutes on foot is the Abbey Gardens, while scrumptious restaurants, lovely cafes and old-school pubs aplenty are practically on your doorstep. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking or cycling or, if you prefer ales to ambles, the Greene King Brewery in town is ideal for beer enthusiasts.

The patio has shared access to the neighbouring cottage, so please be aware that they will pass through the courtyard. This home has very steep stairs – it's not suitable for children or those with limited mobility. You won't need a car in town, but your host provides an on-street parking permit for one car if you do drive. This cottage is set on a row of terraces – please respect the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 11pm. There's a private entrance and guests can self check-in on arrival. A portable air conditioning can be provided during summer months. Please note that there's no washing machine here
