While a wood burner sets the scene for cosy nights in after long dog walks through the South Downs and Kingley Vale.
Come summer, the cottage garden comes into its own, with a barbecue for alfresco dining and a William Holland copper bath to soak in the countryside surroundings. Set in a sleepy hamlet, you’ll need a car as there’s little within reach besides the village shop in nearby West Dean (best accessed by bike). But for us, that's all part of the charm.
