Family homes don't come any prettier. Located on a Victorian-terrace street just north of Islington’s chichi shops and restaurants, the house is entered via a stained-glass door. Things are equally attractive inside, with vivid bursts of colour among whitewashed walls. Guests can gather in an open-plan kitchen, swing in the garden hammock or retreat to comfy bedrooms – one boasting bunks.

There are also luxurious bathrooms, and a great sound system. It’s a ten-minute walk to the Underground, and trains to Central London.
