While those all-important original fireplaces, sash windows, and wooden floorboards remain, everything else has been reimagined. Downstairs, there's a pitched roof dining space with a contemporary free-standing kitchen made for action, leading into a bijou but perfectly formed garden crammed with exotic palms.
Upstairs, there are three surprisingly spacious bedrooms spread out over two floors and a modern shower room. And when it's time to hit the beach, you won't have far to go – it's just a one-minute amble away - as is the bustling high street for cream teas and local antique browsing. Or, for a hefty dose of nostalgia, stroll along to the promenade to buy fish and chips, gamble two-pence pieces in the arcades, and treat yourself to a double cone at the ice cream parlour – it would be rude not to.
