Even though the town is accessible by train and most sights are within walking distance, we recommend a car for accessing local hotspots. There's a designated parking space for one car – ask your host for advice if you’re coming in two vehicles. There are plenty of local bus routes – the X4 takes you to beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes – the X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough – the 95 route travels through quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
