"Glorious setting"

The view from our room was wonderful, the sky ever changing. The hotel overlooks a wooded valley with signs of earlier mining activity on the horizon. My only criticism of our room 4 was that the steps down into the bathroom are difficult to manoeuvre for the older guest. Hotel staff were without exception pleasant and helpful. Plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance. In June I would recommend the Garden House near Yelverton, a special place.

The room in the coach house was lovely and warm to combat the heavy frost and the snow that was visible from our windows on Dartmoor. Very comfortable bed and well appointed room. The highlight though was the superb dinners. Breakfast was very acceptable but didn't reach the high standards of the evening meal. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout.

The staff made us and our dog feel very at ease from the moment we entered the hotel. The room was luxurious, and very roomy, with a view over fields full of sheep that pleased my Colliie as well.

Beautiful food in Restaurant rather spoilt by 50 min wait for cooked breakfast on Sat morning.
