History of the hotel
Once known as 'The Jolly Gardener' was a meeting place for gentlemen florists in the late 1700s. An annual ‘Florists' Feasts' was often held here – a competition to showcase their latest seedlings to their peers, followed by a raucous feast of food and drink.
The Blazing Donkey has been under the proud ownership of the Martin family since 1989. The award winning hotel accommodation was opened to much acclaim in 1995 by the late Peter Alliss and became popular very quickly.
Dogs Policy
Dogs are welcome in all room types. The charge is £25.00 per dog per night.
Dogs are permitted in the bar, but not in the restaurant. Dogs cannot be left in rooms alone and must be on a lead at all times when in the hotel public areas.
