"Excellently located short break"

Staff in this lovely hotel could not have been more helpful. We sat in the lounge bar for tea next to the fire (although we weren t cold) and it was comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was very good, fresh hot and beautifully presented. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds but very near Windsor, Henley and Maidenhead. COVID precautions were good. We will return next summer and take advantage of the terrace and enjoy a cream tea overlooking the lawns and trees.

The most disapoing thing was the fact that the same menu was being served for the 3 nights. We went outside for the last night. The food we did have was good and the restaurant excellent.

Clearly COVID 19 has had an affect on the hotel. That said the hotel was tired and fairly basic. The food in the restaurant was good but the menu limited for a 4 night stay. The room we stayed in was clean but basic.

Reception very hot on mask wearing, but not required anywhere else. Food rather average, although breakfasts were good, an hour wait for breakfast one morning was disappointing. No cleaning products in the room although they did not enter for the duration of our stay. All very hit and miss really. Bill incorrect so we had to query that to get things taken off. Lovely surroundings.

As this hotel has just opened up again after the lock down, bearing this in mind, overall the stay was enjoyable although limited menu but again this has to take in that it had just re-opened to the public.
